Helping Parkland Heal

Behavioral Health Associates of Broward, Counseling Centers of Goodman JFS was one of the first behavioral health providers dispatched to Parkland, Florida immediately following the tragic shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018. Within the first 24 hours, our responsive and compassionate counselors were there, providing emotional support to the survivors, including the parents, students, families and teachers. Together with the Consulate General of Israel in Miami and the Jewish Federation of Broward County, BHAB was instrumental in bringing the Israel Trauma Coalition (ITC) to Florida within days of the massacre to provide invaluable training to over 600 people, including teachers, counselors, clergy and first responders.
